Kamakhya Temple is one of the oldest and most revered shrines in India. Situated on the Nilachal Hill in the western part of Guwahati city in Assam, it is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers.
The temple complex consists of several individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas of Saktism. Taking a bike ride up the winding roads of Nilachal Hill is an experience in itself, offering panoramic views of the city and the Brahmaputra River.
